About this ADHD game

ADHD This or That was created by the ADHD Pearls editorial team as a light, shame-free way for adults to recognize familiar ADHD experiences. The choices are inspired by common patterns such as task paralysis, time blindness, hyperfocus, impulsive decisions, working-memory slips, emotional overwhelm, and inconsistent motivation. The game is educational entertainment and is not a diagnostic assessment.

This game cannot diagnose ADHD or any other condition, and the percentages come from other people playing rather than from research. If these patterns are affecting your daily life, it is worth talking with a qualified clinician.

More about the ADHD This or That game

ADHD This or That is a free, rapid-fire choice game for adult ADHD brains — play it online in your browser, no download and no login. Two options appear (the chair with clothes on it, or the 11pm bin-bag purge?), you tap the one that is more you, and then the part that makes this different from every other ‘this or that’ list on the internet: you instantly see what percentage of other ADHD brains picked the same thing.

That number is the whole point. Most of us spent years assuming our weirdest habits were personal failings — the doom pile, the nine alarms, the crying-in-the-work-toilets-then-back-in-four-minutes. Then you tap a card and it says 72% picked this too, and something quietly unclenches. Recognition is the cheapest, fastest form of shame relief there is, and it arrives here every three seconds.

There are two ways to play. Today’s pack is twelve cards, the same twelve for everyone playing that day, ending in your result and a streak you can keep building. Endless mode keeps handing you cards for as long as your brain wants them — useful on the evenings when stopping is the hard part. An optional rapid-fire timer adds six seconds of gentle urgency if you want the extra dopamine; it is off by default, because low-capacity days deserve a version with no clock at all.

At the end you get your ADHD fingerprint — a read across five spectrums rather than a single label: novelty or comfort (what actually starts your engine), doom pile or midnight purge (what your home does when life gets loud), rabbit hole or tab storm (where attention goes when it goes), masking or unfiltered (how much of you the room gets), and deadline rocket or anxiously early (your relationship with time). Most ADHD brains sit somewhere untidy in the middle of several of them, which is exactly the point.

It is deliberately not the same thing as the ‘What’s your ADHD type?’ quiz. That one hands you a funny archetype. This one hands you a map, plus a running sense of how much company you are actually in. Play both and they tend to agree with each other in a way that is mildly unsettling.

None of it is diagnostic. The percentages come from other people tapping buttons — not from research — and no game can tell you whether you have ADHD. What it can do is put words and numbers to experiences that usually come wrapped in self-blame. If a card lands hard and the pattern is affecting your daily life, that is worth taking to a qualified clinician rather than to a browser tab. Meanwhile the two-minute hacks and the free Stuck Reset are there for a real next step.

Every card you answer also feeds the same little economy as the rest of the ADHD games: pearls. Finish today’s pack and you collect a handful, plus a bonus for every genuinely rare take. Reach 60 across all the games and a surprise reward unlocks. Pearls and streaks are saved on your device — no account, no email, nothing to install.

How it works

  1. 1Tap the one that is more you. Two relatable options per card, from the chair with clothes on it to the flight you got to three hours early. Do not overthink it — first instinct is the honest one.
  2. 2See how many brains agree. Every choice instantly reveals the share of other players who picked the same thing. Under 30% earns you a rare-brain badge and a bonus pearl.
  3. 3Finish today’s twelve. The daily pack is the same for everyone that day, takes about two minutes, and builds a streak you would rather not break. Endless mode keeps going if you are not done.
  4. 4Get your ADHD fingerprint. A profile across five spectrums, your two loudest traits explained, your hive-mind score, your rarest take, and the one tool that fits your brain.
  5. 5Save it or send it. Download a shareable result card, earn pearls toward the surprise reward, and come back tomorrow for a fresh pack.

Who is the game made for?

Are my answers stored?
Your answers are never linked to you, and there is no account. Today's game, your streak and your pearls are saved only in your own browser storage and never leave your device — clearing your browser data resets them. Each choice also sends one anonymous vote to our server: the card's short id and whether you tapped option A or B. That vote is added straight into a running total for that card so the percentages stay accurate; it is not stored as an individual record and carries no name, email or account. The site's analytics also log anonymous gameplay events such as the card number and whether you finished — never the wording of your choices.
How do the percentages work?
Each card shows the share of players who chose that option. The numbers start from an authored estimate and shift toward real player votes as more people play, so they get more accurate over time. They reflect the people who play this game — they are not research statistics.
What is the daily pack and the streak?
Every day there is a fresh set of twelve cards, the same twelve for everyone playing that day. Finishing it extends your streak and earns pearls. Miss a day and the streak resets — nothing else is lost, and endless mode is always available.
What is rapid-fire mode?
An optional six-second timer per card, for when your brain wants urgency and instinct instead of deliberation. It is off by default and you can switch it on or off at any time. Running out of time simply skips the card — there is no penalty.
What are pearls and what do they unlock?
Pearls are points shared across all the ADHD games, saved on your device. You earn them for finishing the daily pack, for rare takes, and steadily in endless mode. At 60 pearls you unlock a free, funny ADHD sticker bundle.
