ADHD Pearls

Editorial approach & AI policy

We want you to know exactly who writes ADHD Pearls, how it's made, and where its limits are. Here is our approach, in plain language.

Who publishes ADHD Pearls

ADHD Pearls is an independent publication of practical, shame-free ADHD tools and guides for late-diagnosed adults, especially women. It is produced by the ADHD Pearls editorial team. Questions, or want to reach the people behind it? Use our contact page.

Who writes the content

Articles are written by the ADHD Pearls editorial team and published under the byline “ADHD Pearls Editorial Team.” We are not doctors, therapists or clinicians, and we do not present ourselves as medical professionals.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help draft and structure articles. Every piece is then reviewed and edited by our team before publishing. AI helps us move faster; it does not replace human judgment about what is accurate, kind and genuinely useful.

About first-person stories

You'll see a warm, first-person voice across the site — “I opened the same email six times,” and so on. These stories are illustrative and composite: they reflect experiences that many ADHD adults describe, gathered from the wider ADHD community and common lived patterns. They are not the biography of a single real person, and they should not be read as one individual's medical history.

Medical safety and sourcing

ADHD, hormones, medication and mental health are sensitive topics. Our content is educational, not medical advice, and it is not a diagnosis or a treatment. We use cautious language, add disclaimers on health-adjacent articles, and link to reputable sources such as NIMH, CHADD, Cleveland Clinic and peer-reviewed research where relevant. Nothing here replaces an assessment from a qualified clinician, and symptoms can have many causes.

Corrections

We want to get things right. If you spot an error — a wrong fact, an outdated statistic, a broken link — please tell us through our contact page. We review correction requests and update articles when needed, and we note the last-updated date on our editorial content.

Independence and how we fund the site

ADHD Pearls is funded by our own digital products (such as workbooks and the Perlova app) and may in future include advertising. Our editorial recommendations are not for sale, and product promotion is kept separate from the guidance in our articles.
